Welcome!
Wolf Creek (Vom Wolf Bach) Farm & Kennels was a dream of Mitchell and I's for many years. Domestic animal care, as well as livestock husbandry have always been passions of mine. My earliest childhood memory is of my German Shepherd "Gonzo" and I playing drums on bowls in the kitchen in Detroit, MI. By age five, I knew I wanted to live my life surrounded by animals. Fast forward 20+ years, and while operating our Pomeranian program in St. Clair Shores, crime in our once quiet neighborhood started to rise. As a result, so did our anxieties and I longed to feel safe again. Then one night, as I watched my toddler drum on Tupperware bowls with a wooden spoon, I thought of Gonzo...and I just knew- we needed a German Shepherd.
It's strange how one decision can change your whole life, but that is exactly what happened. We quickly fell in love with this breed. Their ability to learn so fast, willingness to work, and their undying loyalty and love for "their people" completely did us in. We were hooked. We soon found ourselves searching for a second GSD, then a third, and before we knew it, we were making plans to move out of the city. We dreamed of having more space to train, work alongside our dogs, and just "be free" with our growing pack. Before long, that dream became a reality.
Wolf Creek Farm & Kennels is located in the beautiful Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. We are nestled on 15 secluded acres of privately-owned forest land. Along with our GSD's we raise chickens, turkeys, Kune Kune pigs, American Guinea Hogs, Cayuga ducks and Dairy goats. When we are not training or working around the homestead, we can usually be found wandering the trails on horseback or watching the kids and dogs romp around in Wolf Creek.
Since our breeding program was established several years ago, we have narrowed our focus, now specializing in West German Showline GSD's. However, our overall goal has always remained; breeding healthy, high-quality GSD's with exceptional temperaments. We select each of our dogs from top European bloodlines, originating from West Germany. The dogs we chose for our program are capable of excelling in many facets of work, and make exceptional family companions above all else. We strongly believe in the preservation of the "working nature" of this incredibly versatile breed, without sacrificing temperament. A great deal of time, effort, and research goes into each breeding. Our dogs are healthy, sound, remarkable examples of the breed. Our small in-home kennel environment (puppies are born in our living room) allows us to provide all of our puppies with a great deal of personal attention. This, combined with farm life, toddlers, and early socialization means puppies are exposed to a variety of environments, sights, sounds, and situations. All of these aspects ensure that Wolf Bach pups have the best possible start in life.
Our training at Wolf Bach focuses primarily on obedience and farm work. While our dogs/puppies excel at most any work they do, our personal passion lies in breeding dogs that transcend in search/rescue, service/therapy work, and farm work, while at the same time serving their families as loving and devoted companions.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
